THIS IS THE ITINERARY OF THE MARRAKESH TO FES DESERT TOUR 3 DAYS :
DAY 1 : Marrakech – Atlas Mountains – Kasbah Ait Ben Hadou – Dades Valley
A shared Marrakech to Fes desert tour will start in the morning with a pick-up from your hotel or from the nearest accessible point to your riad.
After passing through Marrakech’s suburbs, full of small towns and farms, we begin our drive up to the High Atlas Mountains.
Before we reach the famous Tizi Ntichka pass (2260 m high), we will stop for coffee and toilets.
Several stops will be made to take photos and stretch your legs before arriving at Kasbah Air Ben Hadou, a UNESCO heritage site that is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Morocco.
This is a famous soundtrack that has been and continues to be used for various Hollywood epics (Game of Thrones, Kingdom of Heaven, Gladiator, etc…).
Upon request, you can hire a local guide with the rest of the group for a visit to the village before selecting a local cafe for lunch.
Afterward, we have a drive-through Dades Valley towards Ouarzazate, Skoura Oasis, and Klaa Mgrouna, which is famous for its Damascus rose plantations and distillations.
Ouarzazate is located on the ‘’road of 1000 Kasbahs’’ and is regarded as the gateway to its famous Kasbahs.
Arrive at Boumalne Dades, take a minor road past the amazing scenery of the Dades River, well-fortified Berber villages in the back.
Enjoy your dinner at the Dads Hotel just before it gets dark.
DAY 2 : Dades Valley – Tinghir – Merzouga – Sahara Desert
Enjoy your breakfast and prepare for a spectacular journey which will make this tour memorable.
You will next visit the Tinghir oasis, where you can walk along a stream under the shade of date palms and olive trees while watching local Berbers tend to their crops and herd their cattle.
Walk along the majestic cliffs of Todgha Gorges, where you may take some photos and enjoy the silence.
After lunch at a local cafe, you will continue to Rissani through various small towns, oases, and Ksours ( fortified villages ). From here, you can see the pink sand dunes approaching over the horizon.
On arrival in Merzouga, you will meet your camel caravan, and take a camel ride for one hour over Erg Chebbi sand dunes admiring one of the most amazing sunsets.
During your camel trek, you will arrive at your Sahara desert camp. Tonight, a delicious Moroccan dinner will be served at your Bedouin camp, and your nomad hosts will entertain you around the fire under a clear night sky with their drums.
Overnight at your Merzouga desert camp.
DAY 3 : Merzouga – Midelt – Ifran – Fes
Get up early and take a camel ride across the Erg Chebbi dunes, then arrive at the camp operator’s lodge in Merzouga for breakfast. a shower and maybe a swim before arriving at Fes.
This journey takes you through the Ziz Valley. which is dotted with thousands of date palm trees. offering stunning views of some of the most beautiful oases in Morocco.
then you will cross the Middle Atlas Mountains to Middle, a small town halfway between Fez and Marrakech, where you can stop for lunch at your leisure.
In the afternoon, you will drive past the cedar forests where you can spot the Barbary apes. ( also known as wild monkeys) before arriving in the small town of Iran.
which is famous for being a winter resort for Moroccans.
